This Sierra waterfall has been my subject for several paintings, it’s so wild and full of energy and I can feel the alpine air.

The most graceful and elegant of the arches, but not around for much longer in geological time. A big slap from the very thin part of the arch fell off recently. Reminiscent of curves found in a human skeleton.

In May of 2017 in Yosemite there were huge waterfalls and water everywhere due to the melting of a tremendous snowpac. There was flooding in the valley, the Merced River was crashing with no break in the whitewater once the river was out of the valley. This waterfall sprayed water and mist and roared like a freight train. Such profound power in nature’s elements.
